Looking for community members interested in volunteering their time to make an impact in student success
What is the time commitment for a school board member? 
It varies School board service involves a substantial time commitment as an unpaid volunteer.  Boards typically meet one or two evenings a month.  Before the monthly meetings, you will need to study the materials.  There are also possible committee meetings, work sessions, and appearances at school events.
What does our school board do?
The MLA School board is an advisory board.  It's major responsibility is setting policy and collaborating with school administration, staff, and the PTO to ensure the MLA vision
MLA K-8 Public charter school mission statement:
A safe and enriching learning environment where the whole student is nurtured and developed.  Our teachers and administrators pledge to support the academic and emotional wellbeing of each and every student.  Students will learn our school prepared with the skills and knowledge that will give them advantages throughout their future educational and life experiences.
