Mrs. Cope, Kindergarten Teacher
Hello! I am Mrs. Cope and this is my 15th year of teaching Kindergarten!
I'm originally from California, but I have lived in Oregon for the last 20 years. I have been married for 27 years and have 3 children, 2 dogs and a cat.
I come from a family of public school teachers and yet, teaching was never my dream. In college, I worked with abused and neglected kids. However, I felt hopeless about making any real change, then after a conversation with my mom, a Kindergarten teacher, I started to understand the impact that a good teacher can have with students and families. Making a difference in someone's life has been at the forefront of my classroom for the past 23 years that I have been in education.
When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time cooking, I especially love family dinner on Sunday nights. I also love to travel and try to sneak away somewhere warm with my husband every winter. Most of my conversations begin with the phrase, "I was listening to a podcast and". I love plants and taking my dogs for walks. My favorite children’s author is Bill Peete.
